TDR attorneys John M. Fitzgerald and Brian C. Haussmann have recently been promoted to partner. Both are commercial litigators who have made important contributions to TDR cases, the firm, and the bar during their tenure at the firm.

Fitzgerald joined the firm in 2006. He has represented many large corporations, small businesses, and individuals successfully and cost-effectively in state and federal litigation. John’s recent victories include a successful motion in the Illinois Supreme Court for a supervisory order that required the Illinois Appellate Court to hear a previously dismissed appeal on the merits.

Since joining the firm in 2008, Haussmann has successfully defended a Fortune 500 company in a trial concerning disputed ownership of corporate real estate, represented another corporate client in a successful action for a temporary restraining order, and helped secure an important 7th Circuit victory in an ERISA class action. Most recently, Brian successfully petitioned the Illinois Supreme Court to review a decision of the Illinois Appellate Court concerning waiver of the attorney-client privilege.

In addition, TDR is proud to announce that Katherine M. O’Brien has joined them as an associate. O’Brien joined TDR in November 2011, after a Cook County Circuit Court clerkship with Judge Stuart E. Palmer, who has since been appointed to become a Justice of the Illinois Appellate Court. O’Brien will focus her practice on commercial litigation.
