Amie Bauer focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation in both state and federal court, involving contract disputes, insurance coverage, product liability defense, and intellectual property. She also supports clients on matters not in litigation, advising clients on various state and federal requirements for their businesses.
Prior to working at Tabet DiVito & Rothstein, Amie was a Judicial Law Clerk to Honorable Thomas E. Hoffman on the Illinois Appellate Court, First District where she assisted in a wide array of appeals in civil, criminal, and Workers’ Compensation matters. Amie also clerked for Honorable Kathleen M. Pantle (Ret.) in the General Chancery Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County assisting in cases involving equitable remedies, such as emergency injunctive relief.
Active in bar associations, Amie served as the Chair and Vice-Chair for the Chicago Bar Association’s Corporate Practice Committee and was given the David C. Hillard Award for Outstanding Committee Service. She is also a member of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. Passionate about access to justice, Amie co-chairs the Outreach Committee on Legal Aid Chicago’s Ambassadors Board.
Amie received her law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, magna cum laude, where she was the Managing Editor of the Children’s Legal Rights Journal and a judicial extern for Honorable Ann Claire Williams, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. She earned her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from the College of William and Mary, and was a tour guide and Vice President of the club basketball team. Between law school and college, Amie taught and coached basketball at the Asian University for Women in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
