Firm Profile

Since its inception in 2001, Tabet DiVito & Rothstein LLC has established itself as one of Chicago’s premier litigation firms.

The RookeryOur trial and appellate attorneys are a talented and determined group of people who are dedicated to the success of our diverse clients in complex commercial, corporate, and governmental litigation.

Our clients include Fortune 500 and other domestic and international corporations, banks, professional service firms, mutual funds, partnerships, limited liability companies, non-profit organizations, and individuals.

For example, we recently obtained a $13 million jury verdict for a client in an action against a multi-national manufacturing company.  The firm has defended one of the world’s largest business-to-business publishing and trade show companies in a contract and fraud dispute with one of its former trade association sponsors. We represented a nationwide video rental chain opposing a putative consumer class action in state court in southern Illinois, and we have handled various securities related claims and other litigation for a Fortune 500 auto parts manufacturer.

Tabet DiVito & Rothstein attorneys represented certain cellular phone companies and their customers in a constitutional challenge to a state statute authorizing a surcharge on cellular telephone calls, obtaining a trial court order invalidating the statute and defeating our opponent’s appeal in the Illinois Supreme Court.  And we are frequently engaged to represent litigants in high-stakes appeals, such as a multi-billion-dollar appeal in a consumer class action regarding the use of non-OEM auto parts and a $10 billion class action alleging fraud in the marketing of certain consumer products.

Our attorneys are actively involved in the legal community. We have taught trial advocacy and other courses at law schools and in professional seminars, including at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, Willamette University Law School, Peking University School of Law, and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.

In addition, our attorneys regularly hold leadership positions in various bar association and court committees, such as the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Appellate Lawyers Association, the Women’s Bar Association, and the CLEAR Commission (charged with developing comprehensive revisions to the Illinois Criminal Code and to the Illinois Code of Corrections).

Tabet DiVito & Rothstein is committed to providing the highest quality legal representation at a fair price. Although the firm’s fees typically are based on traditional hourly billing, we frequently work with clients to establish alternative fee structures in appropriate circumstances.
